Thanksgiving is coming up quickly, and with it comes lots of food and family so you may be asking yourself, what can my dog eat this Thanksgiving? With all the food being prepared in the house, why leave your dog out of all the delicious options that come with the big day? There are some easy dos and don’ts regarding food options that are safe for your furry family members!
Safe food options:
- Turkey meat
- Unseasoned pumpkin
- Unseasoned green beans
- Unseasoned dairy free sweet potato
- Unseasoned yellow, red, or purple potato
Foods to avoid:
- Turkey skin
- Turkey bones
- Garlic butter mashed potatoes
- Garlic
- Onion
- Grapes/raisins
- Desserts – including cranberry sauce
Many of the classic Thanksgiving sides can be portioned out before seasonings are even added and can often be cooked together!
