Kongs and Lick Mats for Dogs are great tools

Kongs and lick mats are great tools to provide for your dog! There are so many things you can fill your pup’s kongs with for some mental stimulation for them, and a moment of peace for yourself.

USES:

  • Mental stimulation
  • Can help reduce anxiety
  • Self entertainment for when you have guests over, or while you work or are eating dinner

Grocery List:

  • Fruits
  • Veggies
  • Peanut butter (without xylitol and no crunchy peanut butter)
    • Such as brand Teddie
  • Toppers, treats or dog food can be sprinkled in
    • The Honest Kitchen Butcher Block Pate
    • The Honest Kitchen dehydrated food
  • Nothing to Hide sticks/No-Hide sticks/Bully sticks
  • Plain unsweetened yogurt (xylitol free)
    • Such as brand Lucerne Plain Whole Milk yogurt
  • Kong Easy Treat (canned spray)
  • Spray cheese (as an occasional treat)

For Kong Tires:

  • Plain yogurt and fruit
  • Place Kong in place with wax paper on bottom, add plain yogurt and blueberries and freeze! Best Served Frozen
  • Fruits like blueberries, apples, honey dew, banana, cantaloupe all work great for this recipe!

Kong Classic:

  • The Honest Kitchen Butcher Block Pate/Peanut Butter/Kong Easy Treat and bully stick/nothing to hide stick/no-hide stick
  • Add your chosen base to the toy about half way
  • Take a chosen stick and add it into the toy, leaving some of the stick exposed. Freeze for long lasting chew

For Lick Mats

  • Kong Easy Treat – spray on mat and spread.
  • Honest Kitchen Pate/dehydrated Toppers – spread on mat and serve.
  • For a longer lasting treat, put it in the freezer overnight and serve.
  • Add Broccoli, carrot, green beans or celery for extra texture!

Dog Ice Cream 

  • 3 bananas
  • ½ plain yogurt
  • ¼ peanut butter
    • Blend together 
    • Put into an ice tray or on lick mat – freeze.

No toys? No problem!

  • Take a small metal bowl (glass or ceramic might break)
  • Add water, chicken/beef/pork broth
  • Add peeled and chopped root vegetables, potato/carrot/beet
  • Freeze!
